" 10-30% Coldry:Lignite mix can be used in existing lignite-fired plants for emissions reduction of 5%-15%, without modification to the plant

2/ 100% Coldry possible in significantly upgraded lignite-fired power stations"

    Reminders are good...

"The power station (LY) burns brown coal from the adjacent Loy Yang mine, which is owned and operated by AGL subsidiary Loy Yang Power. The first unit of the power station was commissioned in 1993 and the second in 1996"

"Hazelwood Power Station, in the Latrobe Valley, Victoria, Australia is a brown coal fueled base-load power station built between 1964 and 1971"

So there is ~20 years between AGL/LY and Hazelwood re life times. Significant. Easier to see why AGL BOUGHT 100% and Hazelwood WERE on the sell...?

Re - waste heat. Some "critics" have posted long re "waste heat" and the DICE argument. Do those folks stop to realise AGL JUST bought 100% of AGL which is ~20 years younger than Hazelwood...?

Sure I see DICE/CCS/Ignite/MBD Energy etc as viable and absolutely potentialy necessary ingredients to the "solution".

IMO the DICE/CCS visions are great. But in the real economic corporate world - these "visions" are a while off.

Some folks seem to post about "absolutism" solutions like DICE/CCS...we are initially hugely attracted by Coldry's "transitional" advantages...and then export/value added possibilities obviously.

How can you economically export BCE unless its viable locally...?

Lets take the middle ground and say Coldry can reduce emissions by just 8% "without modification to the plant"

8%- without any expense to AGL - wouldn't that get the pollies/everyone interested...?...wasn't the goal only 5% by 2020...?

What was Pas saying about the Aug 15 AGL etc requirement to submit for billions from govt...?

I reckon the below highlights the need for an economic BCE to be developed asap.

    June 29, 2012

    http://www.theaustralian.com.au/national-affairs/coal-briquette-supplier-wins-50m-aid-package/story-fn59niix-1226412309782

"He (Mr Ferguson) said there was currently no alternative supplier of cost-effective briquettes and making the transition to other cleaner forms of fuel or feedstock would take time and investment."

So the Govt are paying $50m to keep EnergyBrix open for another 2 years to conserve ~2500 jobs. Obviously the Govt see EnergyBrix is cactus and another more economic BCE needs to be sourced. What is the Govt plan beyond the $50m and 2 yr prop..?

Fact is Vic NEEDS a BCE to keep the jobs but just as importantly - to keep the brown coal boilers boiling. Brown coal boilers NEED BCE to light the boilers...its an indisputable fact.

Could it be "shovel ready" Coldry pellets will fill the void on going...June 29, 2012 -> 2 years...ie from ~ June 29, 2014 on (or there abouts)... ?

Shovel ready Coldry have RFP submitted. And shovel ready Coldry backed ECT have been ticking plenty of boxes if you read the last several ann's.

We completely understand the SP frustration...we have seen/lived it for ~5 years...however...management seem to be nailing things behind the scenes...

    tick tock...
