LOY YANG POWER supply close to 50% of their power output to ALCOA .
The approaching problem to be resolved by LYP is that the COST of the additional carbon tax $23 per ton cannot be PASSED ON TO ALCOA,DETAILS UNDER the new long term contract with ALCOA ,25 YEARS LOCKED IN..
This additional cost may result in problems with re- negotiations securing loans from banks,unless an additional revenue source can be obtained to offset and value add the lignite.
COLDRY local use ,plus potential for export,would achieve additional revenue for GEAC plus the conditional 1.2 billion available compensation package.
how soon can ARUP be completed, some assistance with fast tracking from LYP once legislation is passed would be appreciated.
