I know exactly what you feel like. In the last 5 years i've taught my three kids how to drive and bought them their first cars too. Quite an experience i can tell you. As they were all going to Uni they couldn't afford a car so mum and dad stepped up didn't we. The most important thing to us was safety but at the same time money too as there were 3 of them. So we allowed $12000 for each car. For my eldest, my daughter, we got her a 95 Bmw 316i hatch which was a good size for her and also had airbags and was a good heavy strong little car. Then my son also wanted a Bm so he got a 98 Bmw 318is coupe (of course he wanted the body kit as well) but must say looks nice. Also with airbags and a sturdy strong little car. But my youngest wanted a sporty looking commodore so we got him a 2003 commodore S with a kit also and airbags. My kids are all sensible and until now have been very good on the road and we can only keeping hoping they will continue to be smart. Good luck with it all.
