I actually read an article on the upcoming float of Craveable Brands (Red Rooster/ Opporto owner) in today's AFR. The management obviously have a vested interest in talking the business up but there was a lot of discussion about the "value" end of the food market being more resistant to the economic cycle than restaurants and cafes. Interestingly enough it also mentioned that Magellan has just made a sizeable investment in McDonalds believing that it will be resilient in any down turn caused by Amazon (retail workers losing jobs etc.)
