Regarding the European OEMs (Mercedes, BMW, Volkswagen including Audi and Porsche) this is probably the biggeset news:

    catl Gigafactory in Germany

    Translation in a nutshell:

CATL (Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Limited) will build a battery gigafactory in Erfurt/Germany. Until 2022 they want to invest up to 240M € (~377M AU$), capacity is planned to be 14GW/hour. Their Chinese factory produces already 50 GW per hour (more than Tesla). CATL holds as well part of Byton and 22% of Valmet Automotive (Finland).
The German factory will be a central hub to deliver batteries to VW (2019+), BMW iNext (2021) and Mercedes EQ. Porsche and Audi factories are within good reach as well.
The article states as well that CATL had an IPO in mid-June and received 12,5B US$. They are said to be listed at the Growth Enterprise Market (GEM) but I am unable to find places where the shares are traded.
