Kicking our SAS, page-107

Defence Minister Linda Reynolds says she was "physically ill" after reading the report.
ADF Chief Angus Campbell has been busy piling into the defence force.

Of all people, aren't these two supposed to support our men and women in uniform? Who has got their backs covered if not these two? Time for reform, and moving these two, who have been more concerned about diversity traing and gender equity in the ADF is a good start.

It is sometimes said that when our warriors are sent to make war, it is like making sausages - you dont want to see how it is done. Hallelujah to that. How it is possibly in the public interest to make this report public instead of resolving it through military channels defies comprehension. We train our SAS to be the best; to do the dirty work we want done but dont want to know about; to engage in battle with an enemy
whose soldiers do not wear a uniform so therefore forfeit certain rights, an enemy that has never heard of the Geneva Convention and engages in unspeakable brutality. Then, when our brave troops come home - as was the case after Vietnam - they are treated appallingly. What chance now of encouraging soldiers into elite combat units? We either want elite combat troops or we dont.

One can see the outcome will involve yet more gender and diversity training for personnel, as well as training on behaving by Marquis of Queensbury rules on the battle field after an enemy has decapitated a comrade.
