    I don’t have an issue with investigating allegations of war crimes by our military (but would rather them not being hung, drawn and quartered before they ever set foot inside a court room). It needs to be remembered these alleged crimes were NOT committed in the heat of battle.

    What I do find objectionable is public scrutiny (such as the Lindt Cafe siege inquest) of people (police etc) who were putting their own lives on the line and making split second life and death decisions being taken to task by lawyer types who are acting like Monday morning quarterbacks.

    Obviously there needs to be post event analysis of events to see what was done right, what was done wrong, and where improvements need to be made (tactics, training,equipment etc) but it should be conducted only by people who know what the heat of battle is like, and have faced similar situations in their own professional lives, and not in done front of the TV camera.
