It's a circular argument because if you don't have them you are likely to be unhappy about not having them.
It reminds me of something that I have always thought but have no basis of proof for - that men tend to want boys as their first offspring because they think they will bond with them and be best mates. In reality they usually have a far better relationship with their daughters.
Men who have say, two or three boys and no girls, don't worrry about not having a daughter because they have no idea what they are missing -
