This is understandable considering the switching of alliances by the western superpowers and the support for despots and oppressive regimes. Ask yourself this: The fear, anger and hatred of some Australians following the actions of some muslims in Australia. Now reverse it and put yourself in a situation where a missile remains where once your house stood. 3 generations of your family are dead. This was your reward for avoiding politics - collateral. Another scenario where a despot kills 100s and thousands with relative impunity and are not bought into account by the western powers and worse are openly supportive of those regimes. Then we have 200000 syrians killed, millions displaced yet nothing unless the west's interests were threatened. Yet 36 Australians passed away, killed by Christians and the reaction is the appropriate one (empathy and right to justice). This creates a psyche of distrust - that the blood of a muslim is worthless while the blood of a westerner is sacred. These are the issues the radicals and tyrannical governments bring up when promoting their cause while deflecting their own shortcomings. The media highlights the muslim issues in the west, the opposite occurs in the muslim states. So yes some muslims hate westerners including the people. At the end of the day the agenda, be it religious extremism or political, will cause this antagonism and the people really at fault are the ones in authority.
