I used to take my children to a playgroup and there was a child there who insisted on biting the other children on a very regular basis, and his mothers response was " oh - you are a naughty little boy".
The last time he bit my sons arm and drew blood, I'd had enough and went up, got hold of his arm and bit him. The mother was furious, and threatened to contact her lawyer and sue me, and a chorus behind me echoed, and we are all going to sue you. My son needed a tetanus jab,and a dose of antibiotics, and 5 days later you could still see a perfect set of teeth marks on my sons arm. The mother returned the following week with her "naughty little boy" and I presented her with the medical bill, which she paid, and he never bit another child at the playgroup.
Bit drastic I know, but sometimes all the talking, and reasoning just doesn't work. Do I regret it, sad that the childs mother wasn't prepared to discipline her child, and was willing to watch him inflict pain on toddlers younger than him on a regular basis.
The doctor informed me that the human bite is potentially worse than an animal one.Had to bathe my sons arm on a daily basis.
