    oh please ---------

don't come the bullshit with 'the left'

This shift away from institutionalization and towards community-based care appears to have been an ongoing process in Australia over the past few decades, as the country has worked to modernize and improve its mental health system. However, the search results do not provide a specific date for when this transition began in earnest.

this transition was going on for decades -

a lot of it coincided with the coming chemical treatment and restraint era in mental health care

governments all over found it cheaper (and called it better) to let people loose from institutions

institutions were truly not the answer --------------- BUT - what was a total failure was - that governments closed the institutions - but, did not properly fund the society to house and care for these people

government avoidance of responsibility - the fingers in the ears, shut eyes and humming - and 'someone else's problem' has progressed to the point where there is a massive growing homeless situation and way too little social and welfare housing and care

yesterday in Sydney --------------------- a taste - of what is to come

expect more ---------- when you have thousands sleeping in cars, under bridges and bushes

and we keep pushing them out - pushing them 'somewhere else' -

you push them out of cars in car parks --------------- you think that'll fix it

watch out - next week you'll find them in your kitchen with a knife - or in your supermarket -

you'll go around the end of an aisle and there they will be - waiting for you -

if it's not you -it'll be your daughter or grand daughter

welcome to the world where people will treat society as society treats them
