Interesting article.
From my deep dive in the last 6 months into everything Middle Eastern which included listening to those who have "escaped" and told of their revelations and previous lives, added to what I'd already heard from a friend who use to work within the health system in Sydney (think security), it appears Arabs only respect violence or threats of it.
They see indifference or attempts at dialogue as a form of weakness whereas those of us in the Western world see being controlled by your emotions and violence as a weakness!
