It seems such a long and drawn out process to get a product out that may assist in controlling or curing cancer tumors.

I had thought that particularly in the cancer field treatments that show promise are sometimes expedited faster than other treatments because of the usual high fatality rates of some cancers and the view that any possible solution is better than none.

The report is very upbeat, but coupled with the fact that we most likely dont have commercial access to omomyc or an equivalent it could also be a way to keep the carrot out there for more funding over the next few years. On the verge of something big but never quite there.

It seems that everything hinges on a new deal with someone who has an effective drug against some major ailment that until now cannot penetrate human cells effectively. An announcement of a collaboration with dr soucek's company or something similar could change everything. No more collaborations to "try and find something". Instead a collaboration to take something known to be effective and penetrate cells with it would be gold.
