I am sure real geos could go into far more detail and tell me why this answer is wrong in this case but I did say it was a simplistic answer.

That really helps me, especially the bit about cooling at different rates leading
to separation and the build up of concentrations.

Don't laugh but I thought gold got squirted out of volcanoes and then earthquakes
and floods scattered it about.
