Good article, and if they have their facts right, these statistics are something to get excited about.

The only part I find a bit misleading is "Bloomberg found the data is clear here as well: in 2011 coal attracted just 17 per cent of value of completed electricity generation projects, gas attracted 36 per cent, and renewables 41 per cent (of this 41 per cent was wind and solar was 6 per cent)." This may be true but coal plants are typically established and long-running so 'completed electricity generation in 2011' doesn't really paint the picture.

I'm of the opinion (perhaps cynically) that Australia will still be running on brown coal when the rest of the world is long since running on gas, solar, wave (and of course, fuel cell) power.
