WA ores are mostly sulphides requiring cyanide treatment to extract the gold, whereas Lachlan ores are nuggety and after they are crushed become much the same as alluvial gold - logically, panning for gold in WA is b near useless activity but panning alluvial and panning crushed Lachlan quartz achieves nearly 100% recovery
and that's why WA processing plants cost about 10 times the cost of a Lachlan quartz processing plant - no CIP/CIL chemical processing required for Lachlan gold and my belief is that the small amounts of sulphides found in Lachlan ore should just be separated out and sold or given away to a WA processing plant, or just poured back into an old abandoned mine shaft
regarding crushing - crush Lachlan quartz to about 100 microns I reckon
