I did a search for historic information on the Python mine, I found nothing. For the King Solomon there was not much. Prior to purchase by the Mount Elliott Company in 1912 copper oxide ores were traced on surface for "miles." Mount Elliott were in a buying spree at the time competing for potential tonnage with the Hampden Company. A merger between these two processors was mooted to enable lower grade ores to be treated but the merger never happened and the two companies did not really survive the late 1920's copper price downturn. The King Solomon mine had not been worked for years when it was put up for sale by Mount Elliott in 1926. I couldn't find a record of a sale or new owner.

The first article notes a strong body of red oxide and carbonate ores can be traced for miles. This sounds like red rock alteration found in IOCG deposits in the region. clearly there are high-grade narrow lodes in a larger formation. The extent and grade of that formation is not given. Geophysics should be interesting with the chance of a sizable deposit given the alteration and formation extent.

The Northern Miner 16thAug 1912 - The King Solomon Mines, purchased by the Mount Elliott Company, are situated on the Leichhardt River, and contain a four 40 acre leases. A strong body of red oxide and carbonate ores can be traced for miles along the leases. Very little work has been done to date.

The Evening Telegraph Charters Towers 14th Jan 1916 – At the King Solomon mine considerable work has been carried out. This is another of the mines owned by the Mt. Elliott Co. The main shaft has been sunk to a depth of 50 feet. From this level drives were put in to the north and south to a distance of 193ft. and 147ft. respectively, both formations in these workings being calcite. When work had reached a distance of115ft. in the north drive a payable shoot of ore came in, giving value up to 7 percent copper and this continued up to the time that work was suspended which was some time back.

The Evening Telegraph Charters Towers 10th Feb 1917 – At the King Solomon mine the bottom level values being 12% copper over a width of 17 inches. The mine is placed about 26 miles north of Ballara, which town is the nearest railhead but owing to the rough nature of the country it is impossible to make transport fit a minimum cost. Recently a carrier was asked for a price per ton from a lease in the near locality of these mines, and the price quoted was £3 10s per ton, which was prohibitive when the value of the ore in question was only 22% copper.
