The problem here is that the banks own the regulators. The CFTC has been investigating manipulation in the silver market for over 4 YEARS! and were supposed to release their findings yesterday (I think) but still nothing. The CFTC was given specific dates and times when manipulation would occur and indeed it did, but still have not acted. The whole U.S commodity market has become one giant criminal enterprise where the "Muppets" get milked almost daily and the regulators are corrupt or at best inept. I can see only 2 ways out of this situation 1) An alternative market opens that operates on the basis of true price discovery but that was recently attempted with PAGE and was sabotaged, or 2)Supply and demand fundamentals force real price discovery.
I must say it saddens and angers me to see what corporate America has done to the financial and political systems. It is debasing America on all levels to the detriment of everyone. In America today, you only get the amount of justice you can afford to pay for.
