    The Kingaroy Concerned Citizens Group (KCCG) + other residents will always have concerns and continue to be vocal regardless of what happens with the kingaroy UCG plant. KCCG are not just vocal with the kingaroy situation, they are also against the CSG companies, and the other two UCG projects. So putting an end to Cougar's presence in Kingaroy will not put and end to the protest. So, imo, the government are well aware that closing Cougar down perminatly in order to just satisfy KCCG will only amount to more pressure from KCCG and other groups to stop the operations of CSG and UCG across Qld.

    It is important to note that the incident at the Kingaroy plant this year has demonstrated a significant safety margin with regards to contamination concerns when a casing cracks. And I think Cougar deserve to be given a real opportunity to demonstrate how they can provide large quantities of power for Qld, in order to resolve future power needs.
