Not sure why everybody is trashing mbeard, I think he has a very valid concern.

The problem is the perception. If Kingaroy is perceived as being a few ppb of benzene away from being shut down again, securing funding for a power plant costing hundreds of millions is going to be extremely difficult, and with good reason.

The KCCG are never going to change their minds on it. The media will always provide a willing ear for them and stir up some hysteria.

The UCG plant hasn't been built either - this is only a pilot plant. And yes, it can be moved away from these people, and in my opinion should be. Leave them alone to their peanuts and their ignorance.
