This totally shambolic charade does indeed stink to high heaven, could well have been inadvertent sabotage emanating from a lab worker attempting to woo a work colleague with shed loads of fragrance with the fine mist droplets entering Cougar's test tube samples in the lab:

...There are endless other articles portraying the harmful effects of benzene & benzene derivatives on humans from the use of everyday products. Cougar is being brutally persecuted when it has done absolutely nothing wrong at all and IMO can come out of this 'smelling of roses'. My guess is the farmers of 'ol Kingaroy won't want to put a widespread ban on the use of fragrances & personal care products cos they gotta mask the foul smell of manure with something!!
