In mid January 2016 CSS hiramasa yellowtail kingfish was pre -packed in containers of ice and bound for Vietnam for processing in the asian nation before being returned to Australia as frozen fillets, bar snacks and pre-packaged sashimi bound for supermarkets shelves.
The idea of the trials to process the fish would mean Clean Seas would become a household product.
With 400 tonnes of excess fish stock the company is looking to increase domestic demand.
If the fish is acceptable to the Australian market and it works, CSS are looking at constructing a processing facility in Port Lincoln or Adelaide.
Has it hit the super market shelves yet?
