thats right, for instance, radiometrics gives readings of potassium, thorium and uranium... typically used as pathfinders for REE's or perhaps big porphyry gold deposits (potassic alternation)... Most of those other geophysical techniques will either give 2D or 3D data of whats underneath, ranging from chargeability anomalies to density or magnetic anomalies....

all of these combined with geochemical techniques such as soil sampling, auger, rock chip etc can help with target generation for drilling...

ideally you want several data sets to combine to give a drill target, but sometimes its not always the case, particularly where there is heaps of cover... depends on what you are hunting, will dictate the best techniques to use.
