Weather causes erosion, not rising sea levels. Sand moves, always has.
A concrete gutter I know (not subject to shifting sands) that used to get water in it during spring tides sixty years ago, still does. There may have been a couple of inches extra, no way of knowing because many things affect actual water levels of tides.
You must stop quoting The Age as an authority while simultaneously denouncing everything/everybody else.
