    Santaclaws, this probably already occurred to you if it applies wherever you are:

    We get paid 47c/Kwh for what we put into the grid--rather more than what we pay to WA's Western Power per Kwh. That's why we try to run as little as possible during the day, running up a maximum credit; then we run the washing machine, bore and other water pumps after the sun goes down.
