NZ invites Malaysia to join wood-based biomass R&D

BANTING, MALAYSIA: New Zealand would like to team up with Malaysia to develop wood-based biomass into biofuel.
New Zealand's Agriculture and Forestry Minister Jim Anderton is reported to have told a press conference in Banting such a partnership share information on the technology.
New Zealand is already working with the European countries, Canada and Australia on the project. The country is also in talks with China and India on possible collaboration.
Anderton met up with his Malaysian counterpart, Minister Peter Chin in Kuala Lumpur yesterday. New Zealand is also seeking to work with Malaysia to reduce deforestation and illegal logging.
