But what creed, colour or nationality the board and management are is moot, anyway, because private hospitals in Australia are operated under strict government rules that relate to all manner of operating metrics.

So any fears of rapacious profiteering at the expense of standards are unfounded.

Case in point: Healthscope was acquired by a US-based private equity entity some 4 years ago, and Healthscope hospitals in Australia continue to provide to-standard services today.
