It will be interesting to see what happens to the Cares perpetual bond should this takeover be accepted, the prospectus offers 2 options viz
Conversion to RHC shares based on an average share value during the 20 days prior to the offer minus 2.5% discount, or redeem at face value ($100), it appears most believe the latter will be the case based on todays RHCPA value and sales.
Conversion would provide holders of RHCPA with a capital gain whilst redeeming would for most likely be a capital loss
It will be interesting to see what happens to the Cares...
