Silver Lake is a massive American investment firm. I think this is a signal that there’s appetite for investments in this space (which are quite difficult to access for American investors, as there are no publicly listed companies on US exchanges.) There will be more institutional money pouring into fast growth BNPL companies. In the mid term I see Afterpay continuing to go up despite concerns of overvaluation as long as the growth doesn’t slow down too drastically.
