I thought I'd share this article that discusses some innovative developments on using live images directly to a surgeons glasses to increase their precision thereby improving the chance of long term success for patients.

What took me immediately was the following:
- There are currently 800,000 knee replacement surgeries per year in US (and rising with the aging demographics)
- That the US makes up 50% of the global knee replacement market
- That this is in fact necessary given at present such an extreme procedure is somewhat hit and miss as long term success rates are not great
