Very good result in a 'tricky' retail market .
A solid base for future growth in a market of many small operators . Supermarkets were once the powerhouse of pet care and pet food but the specialists ( like Pet Barn) have taken the business.
The products sold for flea and tick control on dogs and cat are not $5 or $10 but $ 40 - $60 products and new more effective products being registered and entering the market at even higher prices.
This is a growth business. When products get to a price points of $40 - $60 ( that is for 6 month treatment for a medium size dog ) pet owners move from supermarkets to special pet retailers for products.
The Greencross veterinary surgeon business are very good.
