Many ways to avoid showing a large order:
1. Wait for orders to build up on market then trading with them
2. Splitting the order into many small orders. Broker Amscot allows retail investors to do this, producing a contract note at the end of the day with commission based on the whole days volume.
3. Using centre point orders, these are not visible to anyone
4. Using Iceberg orders, where only a small part of the order is visible at once.
