    No doubt RG would have been an asset, but I think it's premature to suggest that Boyd isn't capable of doing a good job. I'm sure the board had their reasons for letting RG go (that's not me saying they were the right reasons).

    Ultimately who is best to run an operation will always be debatable, but none of that changes the mineral deposit itself (which is far more influential on a mine's profitability).

    My suspicion is that MML's operations would have continued to improve over time under either RG or Boyd, what is less knowable is what the government will do.

    If the Philippines government suspends MML's operations RG will look back and think he's dodged a bullet anyway.
