Mike, im in a very similar position to you as well, i have a medium term portfolio seemingly made up of the same stocks im trading for the last few months due to volatility. I have sold some stocks of late looking to reenter at lower prices and have been trading them, ie qbe, nuf, ugl and many many other blue chips which i still have in my longer term portfolio. Its going to be good to have a reasonable % of cash available to purchase shares at lower prices if and when the market gets tired of this run. Its interesting though that i too like yourself and many people have a short term (very short term) trading portfolio and a medium term one, when initially i wasnt trading as much. it seems the way to go atm.
