mkay, I don't know this guy but it don't mean that he doesn't know his stuff.

In my reality, Yup free seminars n paid seminars n courses and other stuff are great. However, all that information is actually out there on the net, and a dedicated month of searching for how to trade forex will help you find it.

So... this brings me back to the concept of okay... so that information is out there, for free, why are there not a huge number of forex traders making squillions, and why do these seminars keep happening year after year decade after decade?

A seminar will get you with a group of like minded people and a good seminar is like a sales convention, a lot of "this is easy, you can do it now go team rah rah rah."

This "feel good" stuff provides an important compnent in getting a trader in the right positive mindset, and is also a good means to sell further information.

In my expereince, those that become successful as traders spend some time finding and testing methods of trading that suit them, A LOT of time perfecting their art in te actual market, a year or two of break even and some success before the final breakthrough where they are able to consistantly pull off income and wealth growth through the profession.

I would love to beleive that traders or potential traders can attend a couple of seminars, do a couple of courses and whammo they are there and happening, but my experience and having met an absolute whale load of POTENTIALLY SUCCESSFUL traders both through HC and through my active involvement in the markets for the last 5+ years has not confirmed that this is the case..

So I beleive attending seminars does have a good result, but is only a small part of the picture or the journey.

You need to lose and win money for real in the markets on top of that, and I dont beleive there is such a thing as a clear cut path to trading.

This trading gig is in my personal opinion very much a profession and a business... like so many pother professions and businesses out there.

There are some who can get a successful business running by following books and courses, the majority start off through trial and error, those who succeed eventually learn how to minimise the errors and capitalise on the trials.

For some this will be an easy path... but NOT for the majority.

Which I guess is the point I am trying to make with this post in that attending a free seminar may well be one of the first steps in the journey to successful (forex) trader, but there are many many steps and a good grasp of what a trader is will help you take the steps that lead you in that direction, rather than spending too much time "sight-seeing"

Just as an aside, I am attending a free seminar next week in melb called "ultimate forex secrets"... I am more interested in how the seminar itself is presented to the public and with slightly more knowledgable eyes now, just how these particular guys beleive that they can get people to being successful traders. That's one of my pet projects at the moment, how I can train others up... currently as purely a journeyman trader, and far from "successful" yet, that is my next goal once the succesful trader mantle has been acheived.

    Should be good fun.

    ;)
