Very Good arguments.
The DRC is very concerned about this dispute going forward to the ICSID. I am sure they are concerned about the international backlash for future investment and the DRC needs the backing of the US Govt. for its security and stability. There is greater risk for the DRC if this deal does not go ahead and the US Govt. has an urgent need for critical minerals. AVZ has more to leverage from the current situation. I know the deal is going to proceed but how do we get the best value.
I am sure our Management team is discussing similar issues not the least of which is whether the DRC Govt. would abide by a decision at the ICSID.
Its a good point you make about what AVZ is actually selling. What is their property? Without a ML (which was withdrawn) we only have the Title to the tenements that the ICC Ordered be restored to AVZ. There is not much else other than our Intellectual property and the knowledge we have gained through our discovery work.
Working out what would be an acceptable offer is difficult. I would love to see how a mathematician would evaluate this considering the lifetime worth of the resource, the high country risk and the challenges to bring this development into production. There are many more angles which you have described and I am certain these would also come into calculation.
For me the fair price has to reflect what has been discovered based on where we started and the magnitude of the resource given its projected lifeline which will outlive almost all of AVZ investors. The critical resources identified are significant to improving living standards globally and to improving the economic prosperity of the DRC.
To be touted as “the biggest lithium discovery on the planet demands fair recognition. AVZ's claim before the ICSID put a value for Manono and surrounding areas at over $10B. Rio Tinto paid over $6.8B for Arcadian Lithium. The share price offered to Investors reflected the long term value.
IMO a fair baseline price rounded up for shareholders would be in the Order of $2.00USD.
Any price reflecting our past All time high or Closing price before suspension cannot be considered. The events surrounding the price movements prior to suspension were corrupt attempts to manipulate the stability of our Share price.
