If the DRC hands the project to U.S. interests, the ICSID case is a powerful card, they won’t want that hanging over them. But if it’s handed to the Chinese, they won’t ignore a judgment; they’ll just kick the can down the road with appeals and annulments. It would cost tens of millions and drag on for years. We don’t have the money, they’ll continue appeals for annulment, reduction etc till we run out of dosh, they'd just bleed us dry.
