Regardless of whether or not I’d sell to the Chinese for a higher price is irrelevant as I don’t think CATL have a shot to buy with the US minerals for security deal in motion. The DRC need the security which the Chinese aren’t offering, and given this I think stamp CATL out for leaving us high and dry.

But to answer your question, f$&k yes I’d take $5 from CATL. I want the people of the DRC to prosper of course but their government isn’t changing based on who the buyer is and in my view their own corruption is the barrier to prosperity. I’m as both as honest and as corruptible as the next investor here and I’d like to see something decent back from my investment.
