Dathcom doesn’t hold the ML, so there’s no asset to sell, only a legal claim via ICSID. If the DRC were to grant a ML, it could trigger the CATH deal (diluting our stake), potentially complicate U.S. involvement due to CATH’s Chinese ties, and likely blow any chance at a CGT exemption since it’d be treated as a direct asset sale.

And why would the DRC grant the licence just to let AVZ flip their stake? Their priority is getting Manono into production under stable, strategic partners, not setting up another ownership dispute.

The more probable outcome? A compensation deal from Kobold or another party. AVZ drops the ICSID case, gets paid for “lost opportunity,” and the project moves forward with new players. Clean exit, CGT-friendly, and we all ride-off into the sunset.
