If Nigel pulls this off, he will be cemented as one of the most determined MD in ASX history. I really can't think of anyone even comparable. When you really sit down and think through what they have been through, from the DRC, China, Feds, bad actors and the media all wanting you to fail - it's actually mind boggling the kind of resilience it would take to see this through. I used to think Nigel was a little too overly confident in his interviews pre 2022, but I think you need that level of self-confidence and bravado to fight what feels like whole world. We wouldn't be entering even a non-binding agreement with Kobold at this stage unless we were confident the compensation was sufficient to warrant suspending ICSID. At this level, alignment of interests not just goodwill drives action.

Great post Mute22. IMO the ONLY reason we're still in this race (let's call it that) is because of the size of our asset. Nothing compares. USA WILL NOT let this fall into Chinese hands. It may seem painfully slow, even nauseating at present, but can anyone see the US losing interest? I certainly can't.
