Why did Joe give the Reserve Bank $9 billion dollars?
They did not actually ask for it so they have no specific need for it, why borrow money and give it to the Reserve Bank to sit in their coffers?
The only reason to put more money in the Reserve Bank vaults would be to have it there for an emergency.
Could it be that the government knows more than we do about the state of the economy and the likelihood of our banks being in trouble when the balloon is pricked.
