Good find Prestonian. It is indeed a Kambalda style of komatite formation we are looking at here. The thickness of the unweathered zones is of key significance.
One correction I should make to my original post. I referred to the magma as intrusive (which means under surface inside a chamber created by forcing the host rocks apart). In fact Kambalda style is extrusive meaning the magma flows to the surface. Hence the channels being scoured out only on the bottom side as it flows.
