A thought occurred to me that the report may not be so much fabricated as incorrectly reported.
It's possible (although I have no basis for this) that what Kepco was referring to is their involvement in a JV proposal rather than a share purchase.
Maybe they said they will take a 15% stake in a JV and the reporter got it wrong. We'll find out soon enough I guess.
Anyone who makes large purchases without due dilligence deserves to lose their money.
