Looks to me as though Kosmos had the Atwood Achiever pre booked to drill two wells before us.
The first well CB-1 which has just been completed was commenced drilling on 22 December and took 11 weeks to completion.
The second well on the Tortue prospect will most likely take a similar time. So if that is correct, we will not receive the rig until late May 2015.
Why could Daimen not work that out and provide accurate timely information. It really doesn't matter that we have the rig a little later. It's the disappointment it causes to get all hyped up then let down.
On a positive note I see that the last well cost Kosmos about $85m. I guess that's $us so say $100m Aus. That's comfortably within our budget and its good to see that the Atwood Achiever is up to speed and finding oil/gas too.
Patience required. Not long now.
