Since the last report the well has continued to produce gas intermittently while drilling, with larger flares observed following periods of shut in when tripping to change components of the drilling assembly. The surface gas readings have averaged 2,000 units during this section.

there was a time, when a well that was drilling and had massive mud weights being used to counter any problems from the formation, when a report of a well continuing to produce whilst drilling was indeed worthy of note..



More significant gas flares including a 50 foot flare were observed while drilling the horizontal section prior to pulling out of hole.


on all occassions in the chalks wells thus far, 50 foot flares during the drill has been associated with encountering natural fractures, these were reported in Baker 1 and baker 2, and kunde 3 by EME in the Conocophillips wells a few miles west of out well..

Kunde 3, a horizontal appraisal well, was spudded on 22 May 2007.
Two sidetrack operations were required to get the well to total depth. A total depth of 14,586 ft (measured depth) was finally reached on 29 August 2007.

Gas shows were encountered over the whole horidontal length of approximately 2,500 ft. Multiple gas flares measuring up to 65’ were recorded over approximately a 1,000 ft horizontal length, including an interval of about 600 ft that produced a constant gas flare.

Significant shows and flares were recorded while drilling the entire 2,800 ft of open hole. The well continually tried to flow despite the high mud weights being used.
