Last night, on Monday February 10, the RoC welcomed a new United Nations resident coordinator. This new UN coordinator resides in the RoC and provides UN assistance in "promoting economic and social development within the RoC".

IMO this further indicates the stable economic, social, and business environment which is present in the RoC.......and hence is a very positive development for KP2, for the Kola project, and for the pending funding announcement.

"This Monday, February 10, in Brazzaville, I received Mr. Abdourahamane Diallo, the new United Nations Resident Coordinator, who, since taking office, has begun a series of meetings with members of the government.

This meeting was an opportunity to discuss the strategic axes of our cooperation with the UN system, particularly on improving the business climate and the economic attractiveness of our country. We identified the challenges still present and considered projects to be implemented to address these issues with the support of the United Nations.

I welcome the support expressed by Mr. Diallo, who welcomed our commitment. Together, we will work to strengthen the partnership between Congo and the United Nations."


"Today, Ambassador Li Yan met with the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Congo Diallo and had in-depth exchanges on multilateral cooperation and development assistance in Congo.

In recent years, the Chinese government has carried out fruitful cooperation with institutions such as the United Nations Food Program and the International Civil Aviation Organization in Congo.

Standing at a new historical starting point, China is willing to strengthen cooperation with the United Nations agencies in Congo under the framework of the Global Development Initiative to jointly promote the economic and social development of Congo."
