We saw the most shares traded today since August 23rd and it happened in only 15 trades. The buyer kept putting his bid on and the seller(s) kept hitting it. Perhaps some deep pockets missed out on the options underwriting and have resorted to accumulating on-market? Recent trading supports this theory IMO.
