From my readings and understanding so far on sinopec's geothermal part, they had Icelandic company involved in sinopec's geothermal projects in previous years mainly because the Icelandic company has most-advanced deep-earth drilling experience (drilling under extremely complicated underneath situation and capable of finding fluid system that is needed) not necessarily in the heat convert-to electricity part from my understanding. So far majority of sinopec's geothermal projects are geothermal to direct heating not much to generating electricity due to various reasons (mainly the heat-to-power efficiency and most importantly cost imo). However we may still have chance to share some of the potential geothermal market when more central/local gov supported/funded "clean/green" projects kick off (to fight pollution) if Kalina can prove that it is better than other competitors (both technically and economically) and if Kalina Hainan plant is proved to be very successful.
