KC may have wanted to be certain 100% that NEN didn't trade if info leaked out before the announcement.Maybe Kris are not as concerned about this issue so don't believe a halt in warranted. Could be different interpretation and/ or different rules on the two exchanges.

Materiality also means that the impact of info leaking out has more impact on NEN v kris.

I wouldn't read too much into what Kris are doing. I think the key point is if they had bad news they would just come out and say it.
