there's some interesting observations in your post that are worthy of expansion if we accept your idea that - there's Christian groups that are supportive of these people because of the blurry dot - that's one point ----- that part of the community is supporting them being in Oz then, you say that coal miners and abattoir workers support the family being in Oz - and, that is close to overwhelming also - the non coal miner and non abattoir workers and non christian people of Biloela also strongly support these people So basically - pretty much the entire community supports the family and strongly wants them to stay in Oz - in Biloelaare not politicians supposed to represent the people of the nation?? is this not the very cornerstone of our system - our nation? now, the fact is - that Dutton - when Minister of Immigration - had discretionary power in this matter ---------- yet - he chose to totally override the wishes of the people of Biloela this is the same man who now - has a public put down of his highest ranking military person and has reversed decisions does this not show the state of the nation? where we have someone like Dutton running the place? how strange we are ------------- it's no secret that most people don't like Albo they don't really like Albo - not because of what he says really - they don't like Albo because of what he looks like - and what he sounds like - not what he actually says yet in Queensland - they voted out a pretty reasonable person - to vote in someone like Dutton - who basically looks like a diseased potato ---------- and, who is doing a job far worse than a deformed potatoI'm afraid, there's something very very wrong in Oz - both with voters - and, most certainly with our system where we let people like Dutton override the very basis of democracy - the will of the people

Its seems a case of govt Ministers playing the same game as Trump showing a lack of compassion towards vulnerable people as some sort of pacification for the more extreme elements of its conservative base, such as those venting on this forum. Didn't do Trump any good as the decent majority convincingly tossed him out of the White House. I suspect the same outcome will happen in OZ.
